Main Street streetscape The City of Scottsdale is beginning design work on new streetscape guidelines for Old Town Scottsdale, beginning with Main Street from Scottsdale Road to 69th  A streetscape is considered the visual element of a street, including the road, adjoining building, sidewalk, street furniture, trees and open spaces that form a streetís character. While the focus of this project is to design and construct a new streetscape for Main Street, the ultimate goal of the project is to develop guidelines that will work throughout Old Town Scottsdale (except for the Historic Old Town district which has its own guidelines). The project team will work with the community to develop the new guidelines over the next several months and then construct the improvements on Main Street during the summer of 2019. Thank You to our Downtown Ambassador Volunteers

More than 100 volunteers spent 4,322 hours serving our Old Town visitors daily between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. during October through May. Primarily located in our Historic Old Town and 5th Avenue shopping districts, these volunteer Ambassadors serve as the primary point of contact for both visitors and residents who are looking for fun and engaging activities as well as tips on how to get around Old Town.

LOOKING FOR SCOTTSDALE INFORMATION?

City links Trolley Update: The Old Town trolley route no longer goes across the Marshall Way bridge. It was rerouted April 23 and is using Goldwater Boulevard with 5th Avenue and Via Soleri as the connectors.    City map center View a map with information on active and completed Old Town development projects and locations.  View additional maps for more information on amenities, services, zoning and traffic restrictions.   Traffic restrictions View a map of city-wide traffic restrictions or subscribe to receive weekly notices.    Special Event permit applications View a list of special event applications received by the city.

PROTECT OUR PRESERVE Political Action Committee Update.  According to the leaders of the Protect Our Preserve Initiative, they will continue to collect registered Scottsdale voter signatures to the end of June with the goal of a November ballot question to require a public vote to (1) construct anything inside the McDowell Sonoran Preserve other than trail heads and trail maintenance and (2) spend Preserve Funds for other than land acquisition or maintenance of trails and trailheads. The initiative requires approximately 24,000 valid signatures and the POP-PAC has until July 5, 2018.

To all Scottsdale high school graduates---CONGRATULATIONS to you and to the parents and relatives who have supported you.  Go out and do positive contributions to our community.  Be active as a volunteer!
