Good evening, COGS E-News Reader: This is a reminder newsletter about Thursday night: (1) the public Grand Opening of the Museum of the West is from 5 to 7 pm (2) three council members will be guests for your questions starting 7 pm in the Granite Reef Senior Center hosted by the Community Council of Scottsdale.

MUSEUM of the WEST Grand Opening of "Western Spirit" is tomorrow night. The private sneak preview Monday night that COGS attended was enough to knock the spurs off any cowboy or cowgirl. This museum will become a major Scottsdale attraction. Children will be excited about the spurs, bridles, handcuffs and old west fire arms displayed on the floor to high ceilings walls. Children-level story boards provide fun quizzes for family challenges. Admire the leather saddles and be sure to have your digital image taken while standing in the desert scene. One of the second floor galleries is a sequential history of the Lewis and Clark expedition as told by original paintings. Western history is revisited in multimedia-- sure to capture a visitor's attention. This museum truly supports Scottsdale-"Where the Old West Meets the New West".

Community Council of Scottsdale public meeting This is your opportunity to share your opinions and to provide support on issues important to you and your neighborhood with three of your city council members. Councilwomen Littlefield and Milhaven and Councilman Smith will be waiting for you in Room 8 (NW corner of building-can park just outside the door) of the Granite Reef Senior Center. There is a free Downtown trolley that stops there or drive to Granite Reef Rd and McDowell Road north of the service station.

Support Demonstration at Scottsdale Police Headquarters this Saturday. Make your own signs or just bring your family and perhaps scout troops on Saturday morning, January 17th from 10 am to noon in their parking lot on the SE corner of Granite Reef Road and Indian School Road. With so much turmoil throughout the USA, we want our officers to know how appreciated they are for their professionalism and the public safety that they provide residents, merchants and our millions of visitors. See you there?
