COGS News Reader: Are you interested in a new project proposed on the NE corner of 64th Street and McDowell Road in the former autoplex site? If so, immediate neighbors such as HiView homeowners are invited to the 6 pm tomorrow the 11th Tuesday meeting in the parking lot designated on the image below . Then Wednesday the 12th 6 pm at the same location,  interested community member or any organization that represents neighborhoods are invited to provide comments and recommendations.
The new owners want to redevelop approximately 23 acres of the 30 plus acres. The HiView subdivision homeowners to the north should be happy that the existing perimeter Open Space on the north and eastern sides will not be rezoned and the pathways and vegetation will remain for public use. As a major gateway to Scottsdale, Sunchase states that they are “committed to returning the site to a vibrant and aesthetically inviting mixed use component of the McDowell Corridor.”  This will require rezoning to provide for proposed mixture of office, residential, retail and hotel uses.
