 Good Afternoon, COGS E-Newsletter Reader.  Hopefully you have placed on your calendar one of the Bond Election Forums with city council members facing off. ALERT: There is a request to add another 6 ft to existing building maximum height (see below). Are any of the other land use cases near you? If you are on an HOA Board or concerned about its procedures, sign up for the free HOA classes hosted by the city.

Bond Forums update:  Tonight—6:30 pm  St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 10815 N 84th Street (north off Shea Blvd).....6 PM Thursday, October 1st, Scottsdale Bible 7601 E Shea Blvd.....Saturday, October 3rd at 10 am in North Scottsdale Christian Church 28700 N. Pima Rd.(north of Dynamite Blvd)   Please attend at least one of these near you to hear your city council members speak to the Bond issues.

Land Use Cases in the staff and public hearing process.  Send your public comment to the staff member in-charge of each case.

Near Shea Boulevard and 116th Street. The applicant is requesting approval to correct previous anomalies to reflect single zoning districts of Single-family residential Planned Community District (S-R PCD). CASE#19-ZN-1987#4

Near Scottsdale Road and Earll Drive. The applicant is requesting approval of an 18-lot subdivision on 1.1 +/-acres located at 3126 N. 71st St. COGS is meeting with their representative this Friday to get more details  CASE#4-PP-2015

Near Frank Lloyd Wright and the Loop 101 Freeway. The applicant is requesting approval of exterior modifications including site plan and building elevations to a restaurant located at 15544 N. Pima Road. CASE#45-DR-2015

 Alert !!  City-wide. The applicant is requesting approval for a text amendment to allow a maximum height up to six feet to be excluded from the maximum building height. If approved, this exceeds “how tall” as currently allowed. CASE#5-TA-2015

Near Ranch Gate Road and 118th Street. The applicant is requesting approval for an extension of the temporary sales trailer located at 11766 E. Buckskin Trail. CASE#46-DR-2015

Near Rio Verde Drive and 122nd Street. The applicant is requesting approval of the site plan, landscape plan, and building elevations for a new golf course clubhouse and resort casita units located at 26601 N. 122nd St.  CASE#47-DR-2015

Open houses to repeal Appendix A-Airport zoning   The city is hosting two outreach meetings for public review and comment on a proposed text amendment. The meeting will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 12, 2015 at One Civic Center (7447 E. Indian School Road) and 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Airport Terminal Lobby (15000 N. Airport Drive). In 2014 Chapter 5 - Aviation of the City of Scottsdale Zoning Code was amended. That amendment updated and incorporated Appendix A – Airport Zoning requirements into Chapter 5 - Aviation. The proposed Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment is to repeal Appendix A – Airport Zoning because it is no longer needed since the regulations are now located in Chapter 5 - Aviation. Staff representatives will discuss comparisons between both ordinances and provide a description of changes. Are you on an HOA Board?   Don’t miss the HOA Meeting Laws topic of Sept. 28 Neighborhood College session  Scottsdale’s free Neighborhood College series continues Monday, Sept. 28, with a session about laws governing homeowner association board meetings.  Discussion will not only cover HOA meeting laws, it will also provide helpful tips on how to conduct efficient board, committee and member meetings.
