THE COGS ANNUAL POTLUCK is
Sunday, October 25th beginning at 5 PM.
You are encouraged to come whether you are a COGS E-Newsletter
reader or a paid $10 annual dues member. It is a dynamic
gathering of adults who care about their city. Previous
years have proven great talents in the kitchen as the casseroles,
salads and desserts are amazing. The location is on a private home
patio near downtown Scottsdale. Feel free to bring friends.

the first Special Events Ordinance public input session was held.
The setting for future sessions (by reservation only) on Thursday
will be 8 tables with each having a different set of questions to
generate participant’s responses.
The goal is to rewrite the outdated ordinance. This first 8
am to 10 am session had 12 participants with a couple more
arriving later. There are 40 registered people in the next
two sessions according to a city staff member.

Lengthy Planning Commission hearing is expected October 28th 5 pm
in the Kiva (city hall).
Commissioners need to rest up for a full agenda next Wednesday
evening and to expect keen public interest in their votes.
Regular Agenda Item #4 returns the CVS requested continuance to
a date to be determined for their Text Amendment that would
add “support retail” [new designation] to the Commercial office
zoning district on the SW corner of 96th Street and Shea Blvd.
Current C-O zoning is a buffer between residential such as
Scottsdale Ranch, Gainey Ranch and McCormick Ranch and retail is

There has been strong neighborhood opposition for the multiple
times this has been submitted.
