THURSDAY, 11th. at 6 pm...Proposed Development at Safari 2 is holding a Neighborhood Meeting to share their pre-application #42-PA-2016 plans for the site located north and east of the NE corner of Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road. (south of Mercedes Benz and east of the vacant Blue Sky site) Their announcement states that they want to  (1) “remove the land uses list associated with Downtown Regional Commercial Office, Type 2 and abide by the Downtown Regional Use, Type 2 (2) An amendment to the Development Plan to include an optional site plan and building elevations to allow building heights of 5-6 stories, which is lower than the previously approved 6-10 stories in height. (3) An amendment to the Development Plan to provide an optional reconfiguration of the site’s parking”. 

Lennar is proposing to build a multifamily development consisting of one building approximately 5 to 6 stories and 160 units currently allowed on the site. The meeting will be held at the Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill 7014 E Camelback Rd # 1423 –enter from the parking lot on the southeastern side of Fashion Square.  Look for signs.  If you have questions, contact Dennis Newcombe at  or Senior Planner/Scottsdale, Dan Symer at

PARADA WEEK SPECIAL:  The Western Spirit: Museum of the West will have a special event this Saturday, 13 February—at 1 pm ---the screening of “The Outlaw” with commentary by Charlie LeSueur.

You have to wait to enjoy Ermal (John Wayne impersonator) and Paula’s (Patsy Kline impersonator) show on selected Wednesdays and Fridays through March 31. Here are the specific dates and times for them:
