Thank you for reading the COGS E Newsletter.  City council executive session tonight determines the fate of popular City Manager Fritz Behring who has been on medical leave.  If you live in the Reata Wash area (DC Ranch, Notre Dame school, Toll Brothers homes, etc.) please attend the Neighborhood Meeting Wednesday-details below. Yes, we have two fresh farmers’ markets in Scottsdale. Wednesdays 3:30 to 6:30 pm is SkySong Community Market at McDowell Rd/Scottsdale Rd and on Saturday mornings is the Old Town Farmers’ Market at Brown/1st Street.

5 pm Consent Agenda (one vote and no discussion for all items) has only 3 liquor license renewals, adoption of the 2015/16 Capital Improvement Budget Adjustments and provisions for Legal Services “for the city’s purchase of aluminum sulfate which may have been the result of bid rigging or other antitrust activity” then the Regular Agenda with the Employee Medical Plans and Premiums http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/Asset64231.aspx ,

Arizona Bike Week WestWorld Event Agreement, Recycling and Solid Waste Disposal Agreements and ending with the important

Reata Pass Watershed Neighborhood Meeting is Wednesday, March 2  in Copper Ridge Elementary 10101 E Thompson Peak Parkway in the cafeteria. Beginning at 5:30 pm  to 6 pm  expect informal viewing of posters depicting the current flood controls in all five reaches and the Reata Wash Study area followed by a 6 pm Questions and Answers session.  If you cannot attend please go to the website at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/construction/reata-wash .  You can view the maps and send in your comments or call Scott Marks at 480 312 7328.

 Indian Bend/Scottsdale Road Neighborhood Meeting regarding the projects on the SW corner will be held at 6:30 pm at Scottsdale Plaza Resort. Location signs are in the lobby.

 Greater Pinnacle Peak Association annual northern Scottsdale residents’ BBQ and fundraiser is 3 pm to 7 pm this Saturday, March 5th at McDonald’s Farm on Scottsdale Road/Jomax Road. Watch this Utube for more information   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqoaCCb_qHU COGS will have an information table with a fun gift for kids (or adults that like acting like a kid again).

 MULTIPLE Community homeowners in the Preserve area will be meeting at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, March 16th at the Windgate Ranch Community Clubhouse. Current information on the proposed Desert Discovery Center will be the topic. The Chairman of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, invited city council members and community leaders from COGS and other citizen advocacy groups will be present. If you live in DC Ranch, Silverleaf, McDowell Mountain Ranch, or other nearby HOAs, please attend or send members of your HOA Board. 

 EVENTS FOR YOUR CALENDAR: Wednesday March 2nd  SkySong Farmer’s Market 3:30 to 6:30 pm Thursday March 3rd AZ Musicfest: Dukes of Dixieland at Highlands Church 7:30 pm...Scottsdale Art Walk/Arts District 7 to 9 pm  Friday, March 4th “Brighton Beach Memoirs” Desert Stage Theater 7:30 pm...Late Night Catechism” Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts 8 pm...Native American Dancing Hyatt Regency 5 to 5:30 pm...Pilobolus  Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts 7 pm Saturdays in Old Town carriage rides, music on the corners, free Hotshot/gunslinger show, Gary the Singing Cowboy on horseback. Cactus League baseball schedules can be picked up at either of the two Downtown Ambassador carts—Main/Brown Ave   or 5th Ave/Stetson.
