Good evening COGS E-newsletter Reader:   Correction on the start time for the Indian Bend/Scottsdale Road Neighborhood Meeting Thursday evening.  The time is 6 pm to 7 pm. This meeting is in the Scottsdale Plaza Resort on the NW corner. Check the lobby sign for the meeting location.

City Manager, Fritz Behring, has been released from his contract for medical cause. The residents of Scottsdale have lost an outstanding city manager. Following years of "don't take your keys out of the car when you park at city hall", we finally had a top administrator who saved the city millions of dollars by consolidating staff offices, selling off unused properties and most appreciated--he didn't enter into political discussions and decisions.  He will be sorely missed by his staff as well as residents who had the privilege of working with him.  There has been no official word on hiring from within or doing an outside search.

Got Fresh Air? Everything you need to know to get enough fresh air into your home. Thursday, March 3rd from 7 to 8:30 pm will be another in the city's free Green Lecture series.  Ride the city's free neighborhood trolley to the Scottsdale Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road (northwest corner of McDowell and Granite Reef, behind the convenience store) The speaker is Brian Kincaid.

As homes become more energy efficient, they become tighter. Besides opening windows, for fresh air during non-summer months, homes built prior to 2012 get fresh air only through infiltration around doors, windows, walls and ceiling penetrations. The unintended consequence is dirty air as a result of outside air picking up dust and particles through the cracks and crevices in the walls and ceiling. What are the solutions for getting fresh air in both summer and winter months without opening windows? Come hear about options for getting whole-house fresh air ventilation while keeping your home air tight, energy efficient and healthy.
